Tester trainings went very well with over 60 testers in attendance!
Backflow tests submitted in the form of email or snail mail will no longer be accepted as of Monday, December 4th!
Kudos to Jennifer, Virginia, Cindie & Dan for the excellent outreach on this launch! The tester trainings this week went very well with over 60 testers in attendance over two days.
The biggest issue thus far to testers appeared to be the new requirement to take photos of the assemblies during an inspection. This is merely a new step in the process they are not used to and may be an issue in the beginning but after a matter of time, it will become habit.
Another issue may be repairs needed or mistakes made on the form. However, VEPO has been really adamant about giving out the phone numbers for support and email to assist the testers. Some testers may call Bothell staff as they are comfortable with our staff but the enthusiasm that VEPO has demonstrated to make the launch a success has been exemplary.
Our city is the first for VEPO in Washington state and there is a huge interest in the backflow community as to how this is progressing. Washington state is one of - if not the - biggest advocate for strict backflow adherence so the bar has been high for VEPO to achieve our required results.
It is expected that when the initial adaption phase is over, testers will find this system very easy to use. Staff will be saving many hours on entering, adjusting, fixing and following up on testing. We look forward to the next few weeks!!
